Embury is looking for a Campus Control Officer for Midrand: Waterfall Campus

This is a permanent position from 1 September 2019

Key Role and Objective:

To secure premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings,equipment, and access points; permitting entry. Obtains help by sounding alarm.

Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the Site supervisor.
  • Controls access.
  • Controls traffic on campus.
  • Completes a monthly security report and reports security breaches.
  • Ensures security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors and the premises.
  • Activating of security equipment, including beams/alarms and shutter gates.
  • Reports malfunctions to Site Supervisor.
  • Member of the OHS committee.
  • Protects the company’s assets relative to theft and other safety issues.

Job requirements:

  • Knowledge of security procedures.
  • Proven track record in access control and guarding.
  • Must be willing to perform duties beyond normal working hours.
  • Must willing to be on call over weekends.

Corporate Sales Representative

The incumbent will report to the Head of Recruitment

Key Role and Objective:

The Corporate Sales Representative position is primarily responsible for revenue generation through strategic alliances with customers. The Corporate Sales Representative will identify opportunities to increase sales and profitability, and has responsibilities directly related to making sales to include: meeting with customers at the customer’s site, communicating with customers via phone, email, and teleconference, providing subject matter expertise regarding product issues; advising customers on suitability of products and solutions based on their needs, preparing proposals, securing presentations, assisting with pricing and securing contracts, developing strategic plans related to the customer and the proposed solution.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Researching and identifying sales opportunity, generating leads, target identification and classification.
  • Reaching out to new customers and making presentations or pitches outlining the benefits of product/services.
  • Understanding the client requirements and then customizing the product/ services as per their needs.
  • Maintaining relationship with all potential and existing clients.
  • Ensuring proper servicing and after sales support to clients.
  • Data reporting to management and gathering market intelligence.
  • Aiming to achieve monthly or annual targets.
  • Sales administration.
  • Client networking.
  • Individual follow-up and sales to the ZF database generated by marketing campaigns.
  • Providing feedback on campaign traction through lead tracking and conversion measures.

ZAMA FUTHI MATRIC consists of distance-learning, tutor- and study materials-based support for students over the age of 21 wanting to write one or more of their matric subjects.
The Department of Basic Education allows these students to sit for the Senior Certificate (Amended) examination in JUNE/JULY each year. To assist the students to prepare for the examination, Embury Institute for Higher Education compiled comprehensive study and answer guides, which are used as support material for specific Grade 12 school textbooks.

The true value of ZAMA FUTHI MATRIC lies in the access students will have to the Zama Futhi tutor network.
As a result of the ZAMA FUTHI MATRIC initiative, EMBURY- DURBAN MUSGRAVE Campus has vacancies for part-time Tutors who can work from home. Tutors will report to the ZAMA FUTHI: HEAD OF ACADEMICS.

Job requirements:

  • Teach students study skills, note-taking skills, and test-taking strategies.
  • Schedule tutoring appointments with students.
  • Assess students’ progress throughout tutoring sessions.
  • Provide feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence in students.
  • Communicate students’ progress to students in written progress reports, in person, by phone, or by e-mail.
  • Participate in training development sessions to improve tutoring practices, learn the online Learning.
  • Management System (Moodle) or learn new tutoring techniques.
  • Prepare online activities for tutoring sessions.
  • Maintain records of student’s assessment results, progress, and feedback, ensuring confidentiality of all records.
  • Identify, develop, or implement intervention strategies and tutoring plans.
  • Develop training materials, like hand-outs, revision activities, or quizzes.
  • Organise the online tutoring environment to promote productivity learning.
  • Provide private instruction to individual or small groups of students to improve academic performance or prepare for subject tests.
  • Prepare and facilitate tutoring workshops or academic support sessions for small groups of students where needed.
  • Travel to a student support centre to conduct tutoring sessions where needed.
  • Research or recommend textbooks, software, equipment, or other learning materials to compliment tutoring.
  • Review subject material with student by discussing text, working solutions to problems, reviewing worksheets or other assignments.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Teaching experience in one or more of the Zama Futhi Matric subjects at grade 11 and 12 level.
  • Minimum of three years’ teaching experience.
  • Computer Literate.
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of excellent time management and administrative skills.
  • Be able to develop teaching and assessment material.
