Student Recruitment Advisor

Embury is looking for a Student Recruitment Advisor for Pretoria Montana Campus.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Answer inbound calls, emails, web enquiries and prospective students that walk into Embury.
  • Assist students with the admission and registration process to ensure appropriate guidance is provided
    regarding programme and qualification requirements and financial obligations.
  • Provide prospective students with the highest level of customer service through effective phone, email and
    face-to-face communication.
  • Attend school visits, career expos and road shows.
  • Assist with providing sales documentation and information.
  • Review enrolment/registration documentation received from prospective students and ensure all required
    information is obtained.
  • Ensure that all student records are updated on the database.
  • Ensure that all web queries are answered promptly and that the required follow up is done.
  • Meet activity and registration targets set by National Student Recruitment Manager.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with students, customers and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of Embury’s ethos, organisational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that you are fully aware of the functionality of the various systems and tools as required in the
    recruitment team.
  • Ensure that you fully understand the details of the Embury portfolio of educational programmes.
  • Ensure that all interested students are contacted for marketing purposes and that follow ups are
    maintained.
  • Contact schools and establish opportunities for presentations and talks.

Job requirements:

    • Minimum of a Matric.
    • Higher education experience (advantageous).
    • Previous experience in a similar position.
    • Sales experience.

Lecturer: Sepedi reporting directly to the Head of Department: Languages

Job requirements:

  • Lecturing experience in Sepedi (Home Language, First Additional Language and Conversational
    Language).
  • Act as a tutor to distance learning students in Sepedi (Home Language, First Additional Language
    and Conversational Language).
  • Experience in blended learning and of virtual learning environments.
  • Provide a supportive and stimulating teaching and learning environment of 21st Century learning and
    supports students on their learning journey.
  • Continually involve self in research and current educational topics to update and improve module
    content and delivery.
  • Create suitable study letters, tests and examinations, and engage in moderation processes.
  • Participate in meetings.
  • Undertake relevant administrative duties.
  • Engage in curriculum and programme development studies.
  • Lecturing and/or teaching experience in the ECD and Foundation Phase a requirement.
  • Be able to travel between campuses to lecture Sepedi (Home Language, First Additional
    Language and Conversational Language).

Minimum Requirements:

      • Specialisation and experience in ECD/Foundation Phase and/or Intermediate Phase is essential.
      • Minimum Honours in Bachelor of Education or equivalent degree and PGCE.
      • Experience in Tertiary Education an advantage.
      • Computer Literate.
      • Ability to work under pressure, independently and as part of a teamg.
      • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Proven track record of excellent time management and administrative skills.
      • Ability to cope with change.

Assistant /Junior Accountant

The following position is available at EMBURY Pretoria Montana Campus
Assistant /Junior Accountant
Embury Institute for Higher Education is looking to grow its finance team to meet the growing finance demands of the company.
The successful applicants will report directly to the Financial Accountant.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Communication with customers (students, corporate clients) and other stakeholders within the organisation.
  • Preparation and processing of invoices and accounts receivable statements for student and corporate clients.
  • Analysis and reporting on key accounts receivable metrics to campus and head office leadership.
  • Collection from overdue customers (students, corporate clients) including directly contacting customers with outstanding accounts and maintenance of all correspondence.
  • Maintenance of debit order collection mandate, including variations during the year.
  • Daily processing of bank statements, including allocation of customer payments to customer accounts and creditor payments to supplier.
  • Daily, weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Daily responsibility for all petty cash functions, including processing transactions, daily cash count and petty cash reconciliations as well as banking of surplus petty cash.
  • Weekly and monthly review and reconciliation of intercompany and interbranch loan accounts,including liaising with counterparties and processing outstanding transactions.
  • Any other reasonable action which may be required to support campus management from time to time as needed.

Job requirements:

      • 2-3 years working experience as a debtor’s clerk, inclusive of debt collection.
      • solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
      • high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
      • experience in operating/compiling spreadsheets, data analysis and report writing and.
      • experience in the use of Evolution accounting software (preferred not required).

Required skills and behaviours:

      • 2-3 years working experience as a debtor’s clerk, inclusive of debt collection.
      • capable of handling work pressure and meeting deadlines.
